Governor Kaine Announces 2007 Community Service and Volunteerism Award Recipients
Governor Timothy M. Kaine has announced recipients of the 2007 Governor’s Community Service and Volunteerism Awards. These awards highlight the efforts of outstanding citizens of the Commonwealth who seek to enhance the lives of others in their communities, and were presented to groups, individuals and families whose volunteer and community service efforts exemplify extraordinary volunteer service. 2007 Governor's Volunteerism & Community Service Awards took place April 12.
The prestigious award has been honoring exemplary Virginians for more than 16 years and recognizes excellence in community service and volunteering. The awards include recognizing volunteer service on the part of businesses, faith-based groups, families, government, emergency preparedness and disaster recovery, national service, nonprofit organizations, seniors, volunteers, volunteer administrators, and youth.
